Everything you need to know about getting involved in the Future of Cities community.
If you’ve ever looked at a neighborhood and thought “this could be so much more” — yes, this is for you. Future of Cities is built for people who believe cities should work for people and the planet. You don’t need a degree in urban planning or a real estate portfolio to belong here. Whether you’re an architect, an activist, a developer, a student, a wellness entrepreneur, or simply someone who cares deeply about how we build the places we call home — there’s a place for you in this community.
Future of Cities is a global community of Regenerative Placemakers, people who are reimagining how we design, develop, and inhabit the spaces around us. At its core, this is about one idea: that every neighborhood, building, park, and street has the potential to give back — to the people who live there, to local ecosystems, and to future generations. We call this Regenerative Placemaking, and it sits at the intersection of real estate, community organizing, environmental stewardship, and human culture. This isn’t a newsletter you’ll skim and forget. It’s a living, breathing ecosystem of people actively building the future — and inviting you to build it with them.
Most communities give you content. This one gives you a network that’s actually building things. The difference is that Future of Cities isn’t a forum that happens to talk about urban development — it’s the membership arm of a real operating ecosystem. Tony Cho and the Future of Cities team are actively developing projects globally. FoC partners are working on conservation corridors, eco-retreats, arts districts, and regenerative neighborhoods right now. You’re not just connecting with other curious people. You’re plugging into a network of practitioners, investors, developers, architects, activists, and policymakers who are doing the work — and who are actively looking for collaborators, co-creators, and the next generation of regenerative leaders.
Absolutely. Regenerative Placemaking is a global movement. And it’s also why the Future of Cities community platform exists: to provide our global community with a centralized home base to see what’s being built around the world and how we can all be a part of its success. Our networks span the US, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Canada, Australia, India and beyond. The Future of Cities Global Coalition includes advisors, practitioners, and project leaders operating across continents. And the very premise of Regenerative Placemaking — that the way we build cities shapes the health of our communities and ecosystems — is, by definition, a global challenge that demands global collaboration.
